Residence Le Vele


The Residence “Le Vele” is a new building designed with the most modern construction techniques, and it is certified as “Energy Class A”. Particular attention has been paid to soundproofing and thermal insulation, solar-panel generated hot water, and climate control in each room of every apartment. 

The apartments are spacious and comfortable, and have gardens or large terraces. Each apartment has private entry and its own parking space in the building. 
Just a few minutes by foot to the beach, Le Vele offers travelers easy access to the Pietra Ligure train station and Loano harbour. Also, the hospital “Santa Corona” is nearby. 

Leisure: Between June and September, guests may enjoy the beach service (with umbrellas, sun beds and beach chairs).

Accessibility: The Residence “Le Vele” includes an apartment specifically equipped to accommodate disabled people. The “Fiocco” apartment includes the necessary facilities so that those with movement difficulties can enjoy their stay independently. 
A second flat with a disability accessible bathroom is available (see Apartment “Genoa”).

What to do in Pietra Ligure

St. Nicolò's Basilica

St. Nicolò Basilica is one of the most beautiful and largest churches on the Riviera, surrounded by trees and benches. From the sacrato, made of mosaic sea stones, you enter the three large doors. The style of the church is "composite Romanesque". To the three doors, with bronze panels, sculpted by Monfredini, correspond the three lobed windows with stained glass windows the three statues: St. Nicolo, St. Pietro and St. Paolo, placed above the doors themselves.

The museum of the clock tower

The tower clock museum was born from the idea of ​​Giovanni Bergallo, watchmaker, who, on the occasion of the first public exhibition of some pieces of the Bergallo factory, which took place on 15 September 1984, publicly hoped that a museum would be created in his country would collect the testimonies of the art of watchmaking and of the family tradition for time machines.

Valdemino's caves

Following the water route, in 1933, three boys from Borgio entered the first room of a new cave, where they wrote the date and their names with the smoke of candles: Lillo, Tito and Valentino. No one realized the extent of the discovery until 1951, the year in which Giovanni Dentella, at the head of the Ingauno Speleological Group, began the systematic exploration of the cave, finding a complex of rooms and galleries that winds for a few kilometers below the inhabited area of ​​Borgio. It will be Dentella himself, struck by the extraordinary beauty of that underground world.

Carmo mountain

Like the most characteristic Ligurian landscape, in Pietra Ligure, the coastal plain gives way to the typical hilly terrace landscape. This allows you to alternate days at sea with walks in the immediate hinterland. To enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the port and the hills that slope down to the sea, just reach the Sanctuary of SS. Cosma e Damiano. From here the walk can continue descending towards the coast on the path that leads to the "Bric dei Cinque Alberi", a pre-Roman castle. A splendid view can also be enjoyed from the hill dominated by the church of San Martino.

The "falesia dalle cento corde"

The Borgio Verezzi Speleological Group, with the support and patronage of the Municipality of Borgio Verezzi and with the collaboration of the local Alpine Group, completed the construction of n. 23 new climbing routes at the Falesia della Cava Vecchia di Verezzi, called Falesia delle Cento Corde (from the name of the Pozzo delle Cento Corde cave, located nearby). These are routes with a degree of difficulty between 4A (the easiest route, entitled "Don't beat the nail") and 6B (via "Krubera"), all for a total of about 300 meters of equipped routes.
